Google investigating Salesforce Connector outage in Sheets

Google is currently investigating a widespread outage breaking the Salesforce Connector for Google Sheets. The popular extension stopped loading for many users yesterday, leaving them stuck with only a “Help” option in their menus and no way to sync their CRM data.

The root cause appears to be tied to an outdated backend system. As the OP highlighted on the Google Docs Editors Community, clicking the connector previously threw a specific runtime error. It told users that the Rhino runtime is deprecated and no longer supported. Now, the option to open the tool is just missing entirely.

Other users are reporting the exact same blocked workflow. Another poster noted that they cannot launch the sidebar at all. People have tried the usual troubleshooting steps like clearing their browser cache and reinstalling the add-on. A user in a separate post mentioned that none of those standard fixes actually work.

Over on Reddit, one person asked if anyone else was unable to pull Salesforce reports into Sheets. A couple of people chimed in to confirm the extension is basically dead right now.
