Paste anything (Cmd/Ctrl+V) to start a notepad

Online Notepad

Textpad is a free online notepad that opens in your browser. No sign-up, no ads, no setup. Start typing - your note auto-saves as you write, and you can share it with a link or keep it private forever.

Always-on auto-save

Textpad saves your latest content automatically as you type. No save button, no expiry, no "tab closed = gone". Your notes stay in your account for as long as the account exists.

Saves about a second after you stop typing

No manual save, no caps, no expiry timer

Across devices: sign in anywhere, your notes are there

Saved · just now
Your latest content, in your account, on every device.

Photos: paste, drop, done

Drop a photo from your desktop, paste a screenshot from your clipboard, or drag a file straight onto the page. The image appears inline, full-quality, with a resize handle. Type **bold**, ## headings, or any other Markdown shortcut and it converts as you type. No image-host setup, no upload-then-paste-the-URL dance.

Paste images straight from your clipboard with Cmd/Ctrl+V

Drag-and-drop a file from your desktop, anywhere on the page

Resize handles, sketches, and freehand drawing built in

Same affordance for videos and audio, drop it, embed it

Markdown shortcuts work too if that's how you write

No account, no install

Click and write. Textpad works on any device with a browser - desktop, tablet, or phone. Create an account later if you want to keep your notes across devices, but you don't have to.

Auto-saved, never lost

Textpad auto-saves as you type - about a second after you stop typing, your changes are persisted. Close the tab, lose power, switch devices - your notes are still there when you come back.

Share a note with a link

When you want others to read a note, make it public and copy the link. Recipients don't need an account either. Keep it private by default, or publish it as a post on your own free archive.

What you can do with it

  • Quick notes: jot something down before you forget.
  • Drafts: write a long message before pasting it elsewhere.
  • Share text: paste a long block, send a link.
  • Keep a journal: write daily, browse the archive.

Why Textpad over a basic online notepad

Most free online notepads give you a single textarea and disappear when you close the tab. Textpad keeps every version of every note, lets you add images and links with previews, and gives you a real URL you can share or publish. It's a notepad you can grow into.
