Rhode Island artists can apply for climate communication grants

NorthEast News is following a new Rhode Island grant that connects climate communication with local creative work. The Arts and Climate Grant offers up to $5,000 for projects that help residents engage with issues such as flooding, extreme heat, transit, energy efficiency and community resilience.

Applications are due Nov. 2. Proposed work must take place in Rhode Island during 2027, and the state arts council notes that partial awards are common. Eligibility centers on adult Rhode Island residents, with additional rules for group projects and the type of public sharing expected.

The idea is to help make technical climate topics accessible through projects shaped by artists and community voices. NorthEast News lays out the application timeline, limits on eligible expenses and the information sessions scheduled before the deadline.
